Namaste and Welcome to Yoga with Derek

Yoga Classes

Skyward Active Health Centre – 70 County Road 5, Mallorytown, On

Certified Raja Yoga Teacher since 2016 with Freedom Yoga in Brampton. I also have a background in Meditation (Samadhi) from the WillPower Institute in Nepean. With respect to yoga, some days I like a good smooth Vinyasa Flow, other days an Ashtanga workout or even something in the Yin restorative style. Nothing is etched I stone for classes. Our class (yes, that means yours also) varies on what is required that day. What are the needs in the current moment, “What’s Important Now”. I can guarantee that every class will be different but nothing you can’t handle. (insert smiley face here)

Excited to share with you what I’ve learned in addition to what I will learn from you in future classes.

Regarding Classes:

Open yoga classes may include a moderate level of physical activity, various deep breathing exercises and deep gentle stretches. There is always options and variations offered to suit all body types.

In Buddhist symbolism the lotus is symbolic of purity of the body, speech, and mind as while rooted in the mud, its flowers blossom on long stalks as if floating above the muddy waters of attachment and desire. It is also symbolic of detachment as drops of water easily slide off its petals.
